Perfect Eyebrows!!

How do you prefer your “Arch’?

I go to get my eyebrows done every 2-3 weeks. As a Beauty model, your facial appearance has to be accurate before every casting and every job. My best method (that works for me) is Threading. However there are other options avaliable for you to try; Tweezing and Waxing!

In my experience, Tweezing doesn’t finish my brow line as neatly as I would like, and Waxing is a KNIGHTMARE!! The skin under my brow is so sensitive, and having had red skin after a few attempts, i decided that it just wasn’t for me!

Here are a few Tips given by Eyebrow Guru “Shavata” (As per her website http://www.shavata.co.uk/hints.html)

1. Always get your eyebrows professionally done, even if this is only once a year. This will give you an idea of what they should look like, and with regular maintenance they will remain perfectly shaped.

2. No two eyebrows are ever identical; so don’t even attempt to get them the same as you will end up plucking to nothing. They say eyebrows are sisters not twins.

3. Always tweeze both eyebrows together taking a few hairs of each at a time; it is a lot easier as trying to mimic one brow shape after the other is very difficult.

4. When shaping your own eyebrows there are a few rules to follow; eyebrows should start before the eye (nose side) and not after. Try to keep the shape even – there is nothing worse than a tadpole sitting on top of your eyes.

5. If you decide to have your brows professionally shaped and don’t know where to go always ask someone whos eyebrows you like and always check that the therapists own eyebrows look good as this is always a good indication.

Have fun Plucking, Tweezing or Waxing! x

Don’t you want Healthy hair? If so read on….

Nutrition is VITAL for healthy hair, its a reflection of a healthy body! You need to pay as much attention on your food as you do when applying shampoos, conditioners and treatments to your hair!

Drink plenty of water. Water will not only hydrate your body but it will keep your hair glossy and smooth! I try to drink 3 glasses of cold water and 4 cups of herbal teas everyday!!

Step NO.2

Be up to date with all your minerals and vitamins!

Iron- Will help to carry oxygen to your hair.
Vitamin A – Antioxidant that helps produce healthy sebum in the scalp.
Vitamin C – Antioxidant that helps maintain skin & hair health
Vitamin B6 – Prevents hair loss, helps create melanin, which gives hair its color
Vitamin B12 – Prevents hair loss.

Try to shop around and find 1 Multi-vitamin which includes them all! Rather than popping many pills everyday. Well-Woman is great!!

Step No.3

Don’t overdo your washing! “Shampooing every day is drying to your hair and scalp,” s Instead, aim for two to three times a week – and on off days, rinse with water and condition only your ends.

In addition to this……DONT FORGET TO EXERCISE!!!!

Autumn Weather causing Dry, Dull, Lifeless Hair?

As Hotmail have suggested (http://style.uk.msn.com/beauty/marie-claire/autumn-could-cause-women-to-lose-their-hair), the current weather terms are destructive to our hair’s volume and growth. So here are a few tips to maintaining its strength, increasing the length and keeping it full of body.

1. Opt out of using Straightners and just Blow Dry!

Too much heat can indeed eventually damage your hair (regardless of how much heat resistant serums you put on it) So i’d recommend to alternate your usage of Hair Straightners, pressing combs etc simply blow dry your hair until it straightens!

2. Hot Oil Treatments

Keep the moisture in your hair buy occasionally using Oils to lock in the moisture. The best treatment I use is : Coconut Oil, Rosemary Oil, Basil Oil and Olive Oil. Apply after you shampoo and leave on for 30 mins, covered by a warm towel, then rinse.

3. Cover your hair when outdoors

I always wonder how come Asians and Arabs always have thick healthy hair, and im leading to believe that its because they wear Hijabs. Covering your hair while your outdoors protects it from extreme weather and pollution. So Ladies I suggest wrapping a scarf or wearing a wooly hat while out this winter, will surely sustain moisture and promote healthy Hair!

5 Tips to SUCCESS in the Modelling Industry

1. Research the different types of Modelling and think about where it is that YOU fit…look at the height and size requirements of agencies, whether you are the ‘girl next door’ or if you are ‘edgy’, whether you want to strut along the catwalk or simply promote companies at exhibitions, fairs and events.

2. Network. I always carried a business card around with me, whenever I went to a Launch Party, Special Event or even when I went shopping. You never know who you will meet and you want to always prepare professional.

3. Test Test Test! The best way to grow your confidence and develop a standard portfolio is to TFP (Time for Print). The best site I found to achieve this was www.modelmayhem.com. Be Wise and selective but be open to try different looks and creations! Don’t Limit yourself.

4. Travel. I made sure to travel around America, Europe and now Africa. Find where it is that you think you will work well, where your ‘look’ will be appreciated and where you will be happy. Don’t think for one second that you have to fly away to America to make it as a model when you could easily work well in the Asian market!

5. Finally, Dress like a model and soon you and everyone around you will take your new career seriously!

Good Luck Ladies and Gents…Keep me posted on your success!
